Buy a medical business in Poland
If dentistry is a “gold mine,” then one-day surgery is an “oil well.” The global trend in medicine is shifting from long hospital stays to quick and minimally invasive operations. Patients want to come in the morning, have surgery (veins, hernia, knee), and go home in the evening.
In Poland, private clinics of this format are experiencing a boom. Queues for elective surgeries in state hospitals (NFZ) stretch for years, driving patients to the private sector.
What Is “One Day Surgery”?
It is a clinic with a full-fledged operating block but without inpatient hotel facilities. The patient spends only a few hours in the ward after anesthesia.
Popular Areas: Phlebology (varicose vein treatment), orthopedics (joint arthroscopy), cataract removal, ENT surgeries, plastic surgery.
Economics: The absence of costs for food and 24-hour patient monitoring reduces the cost price. At the same time, the check for an operation ranges from 3,000 to 15,000 PLN.
Technical Challenge: Operating Block
Building an operating room in Poland is an extremely difficult engineering task. The Ministry of Health’s requirements here are extremely strict.
Ventilation. Laminar air flow systems (sterile air over the operating table) are needed. The cost of such a system can exceed the renovation cost of the rest of the premises.
Logistics. Paths for “clean” and “dirty” materials, patients, and staff must not cross.
Airlocks. Entry to the operating room is possible only through an airlock system.
A 10 cm error in the project can lead to Sanepid not signing the operation permit, leaving the investor with an expensive renovation that cannot be used.
The Role of MED INVEST GROUP
We specialize in complex facilities.
Premises Search. Not every building can withstand the load of ventilation units and provide the necessary ceiling height (minimum 3.10 m for an operating room).
Design. Our technologists know how to fit an operating block into limited space while complying with all standards.
Equipment. We know where to buy operating tables and lights that will last 10 years without overpaying for the brand.
Investments in a surgical center start from 1–1.5 million PLN, but the payback of such projects is phenomenal due to the high flow of patients with “high-value” problems.
